Review Highlights:
I loved how the book was specifically designed around woman in science. This is perfect timing for such a book to be published. We need more women in the STEM fields as diverse research teams are more likely to come up with new ideas, and this book helps inspire young women to pursue those careers by showing the incredible role models that typical history books leave out.
I love that this is a coloring book. It's a powerful, subtle, fun and interactive way to teach often ignored history to young children, especially young girls. The women featured such as Ada Lovelace, Ellen Swallow Richards, Beatrix Potter, are inspirational! I had no idea that Ada Lovelace is considered the world's first computer programmer! I think I learned more than my daughter!
We enjoyed reading and learning about important female figures in history. I like the glossary and resources in the back of the book. I read while my son colored. It inspired lots of good conversations about inequality and the history of oppression.
