We loved it! My 2 year old and 5 year old danced around the house as we listened to this wonderful cd! If you are looking for a fun and playful introduction to classical music for your young ones, this is the perfect fit!

A lovely product that I thoroughly enjoyed. Many, but not all of the lyrics were educational. Some were just sweet, joyous or fun! I love how the first song invites the listener in on a journey, with the inspirational music of Suppe. "The Orchestra Families," is my children's favorite song with all of the the instruments grouped and described. It's a shame that some how there can not be examples of those instruments right along with their naming. Another child's favorite is "William Tell Oh So Swell." As the overture is already familiar in our house, it made this song and it's lyrics much more impressionable and interesting. The title track has great lyrics for any child to hear over and over again. My 2 year old is a big fan of tracks 9 and 10, as is his mother, with reinforcing lyrics about cleaning up and brushing teeth!

The cd opens with triumphant horns and a melodious female voice that echos that of Julie Andrews. The female lead is joined by a few other younger voices that let the listener know that we will be blasting off into our imagination. Young Avenue Kids has put together a wonderful collection of popular classical music that spans from the 18th to the 20th century. Ilana Melmed replaces the soprano lines with kid accessable lyrics about everything from butterflies, to clean up songs, to the circus. Although this cd has quite the universal appeal, it is highly recommended for children ages 2-6.
