Tinkering Labs Electric Motors Catalyst STEM Kit is an excellent, all-inclusive kit. Perfect for science clubs, learning centers (with a decent amount of time, for the "tinkering," experiment and discovery aspect), and homeschools. I liked that it challenged my students to think and to be creative!
This is a great kit for the kid who wants to take apart everything to see what they can create with the components~ because it has safe parts to create with, and because it is truly open-ended, it is good for a variety of ages. I appreciate also that while it is possible to fairly quickly create something that "works," it truly is a "tinkering" kit~ with the potential for almost endless variations on theme.
Very well thought out and produced elements, with everything required included and neatly packaged in the kit for hours of creative tinkering and discovery. I appreciate that there are open-ended project cards that are "suggestions," with a couple that are detailed by step in the manual that comes with the kit. For those that need a little extra, there are YouTube videos that can help spark that creativity.
Children practice following directions during initial use, and learn creative thinking and logic as applied to engineering, design, math, art, and more!
